The IFEC 2008 and 2009 Summits were major events for the aviation industry in China, delivering new insights and experiences to the Chinese airlines and also to many of the big names in hardware and content in the world. The WAEA, which is the global voice and organisation for inflight entertainment and connectivity, has lent support to the IFEC events in China for 2 consecutive years, and will continue to co-host the China IFEC 2010 Summit in June, in Shanghai, China. We are glad to have them onboard!
The IFEC series of events, which started of as a platform for exchange and networking, will be held in Shanghai this year. After two years of gaining a better understanding of the domestic market, the foreign attendees this year will be able to experience a more mature and knowledgeable Chinese airline line-up, with the return of many familiar faces from China Southern, Air China, China Eastern, Shanghai Airlines, Spring Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and more. One of the major issues that could be discussed will be the take over of Shanghai Airlines by China Eastern, and its impact on future IFE&C purchases, internal management structural changes and how the global players will react.
The third China IFEC Summit will continue to incorporate the elements of exchange that have been a feature from inception. This year the pre-conference workshop will be expanded, the One2One Speed Networking session held in two parts allowing access to content and engineering/brand decision makers, panel discussions will be lead by international industry media representatives and a planned Gala Dinner event will be introduced. These features will enable existing relationships to be strengthen and quality information to be shared - both creating a more tangible industry community for the inflight entertainment, communication & connectivity and partners in China.
